Ohio Fishing

If you like fly fishing for smallmouth bass, Ohio offers one great creek on the Ohio/PA/W.V. border...
Beaver Creek State Park, located off of State Route 7 between East Liverpool and Rogers Ohio...

I caught twenty smallies over 12 inches long one day last summer and three of them were 15+ inches...
The creek is a slate/shell bottom creek with many limestone boulders to boot.

There is also the Mad River in western Ohio around the town of Urbana and Dayton, Ohio's only "NATURAL" trout stream...
I caught my first WILD rainbow there, it's colors was unbelievable.

To the north we have major rivers like the Grand, Cuyahoga and Conneaute Creek (my favorite place to go).

Ohio offers some fantastic lake fishing too, most can be fished with a fly rod.
This is just the tip of the water-ways, granted Ohio has less trout waters than PA or W.V...
But having a 40+ inch muskie or pike at the end of your line kind of makes up for it... :hehe:
