Things indeed are moving around a bit up on the Kola. The company I work as a consultant to, The Kharlovka Company, has recently taken all fishing back in hands. Our choice is not to employ any agents in the future as we much prefer to deal straight with our clients. As a consequence we already are becoming overbooked for many weeks of the 2003 season.
The 2002 season has been unreal. As of last Saturday:
So far there have been 5 (Five) great 40+ lbs MSW salmon with the best an awesome 46.5 lbs by David Latimer. There have been 44 (Fourty Four) over 30 lbs. We have landed 3120 fish in total. 79% have been salmon and 21% have been grilse. There have been 2075 fish over over 10 lbs with an average weight of 15.1 lbs. The average number of fish per rod through the season including the early spring weeks is 16.2 fish. With two weeks to go we are hoping for 3500 fish for the season.
