Flyflotant

Most Flotants are composed of some form of silicone in either a grease type substance or liquid form. The more expensive liquids usually incorporate a carrier that evaporates very quickly leaving nothing but the silicone imbedded into the material composing the fly. A trick that I have used when preparing a batch of dry flys for trip is to treat them at home and they are perfectly dry before entering the water.

Hardy used to produce a small aersol which contained a wax type substancewhich is very effective, it should still be aviable.
