Didn't Orvis replace these rods free of charge?
They have a no fault replacement plan, 25 years, no matter how the rod gets broken.
"Junk" seems a bit harsh for a brand of fishing gear that has been working longer and harder than most people I know.
I still think Orvis rods are a top of the line fishing gear.
Sorry about your bad luck with them, but I'll bet Orvis will replace them promply.
