LOL - my favorite non-religious Easter story was the year they closed my once local steelhead river on Easter Sunday. It was the first year in decades they left the season open for C&R, and the last.
Anyway I lived within a few miles of the river and a neighbor and I were having an epic week of C&R. I released 11 steelhead in the last 9 days of which only one was hatchery, a great sign of the state of the late native run. I was too involved with family affairs to fish that closing Sunday but did have a chance to drive by the river while on errands. To my surprise I saw my neighbor and his visiting father-in-law in their Sunday best and waders fishing the run, supposedly running errands as well! It was hilarious.
