I heard a guide, known to me as a serious guide describe hearing a line from a sport a long way away on a very large River. Said the fish could hear the thing coming 40 feet away. I have a great line that is actually made for mending. In the Discount shop it's not 85 but 59. I can tell you that I often wonder
why it is easy to try and fish too much line! The line is effortless, and when in current mends precisely. It goes too far. I even hooked fish on wet flies this season.
PS: high water was the true reason.
