I am very good about eating 'the good fats' but I do need to reduce overall intake of fats as a percentage of my calories per day. I eat nuts instead of cheese curls but I tend to eat too much when I snack. I am getting away with it better since I get a lot of exercise but in general the rule of thumb is:
- limit calories where you can
- limit calories from fat in the calories you consume
- replace bad fats with good fats (e.g. sliced almonds instead of bacon bits on the salad)
Since weight control is calories burned verses calories consumed exercise is also key.
