i have a 0 wt TXL. i use it for light trout on calm days for delicate presentation of very small (18-28) dry flies (midges) and nymphs. it's a bit of work on nymphs because the rod is only 7'9". it's a beauty for the dry flies though. i also use it for pan fish but not with poppers. the rod has surprising backbone and will throw those small flies quite a distance. i've landed 14" trout with the only problem being the 7x or 8x tippet's lack of strength or my lack of ability or both. but, the rod can handle it. i'd be somewhat shy about a #12 fly though.
