I'll let you know in a few days when I have read both
BTW I got to chat or better yet cast with Joan just the other day in Denver at a quiet moment on the casting pond when it was strangely uncrowded. I had been fishing with heavily rear-loaded 11/12wt two-hand stroke and a very abrupt high-stop recently (Atlantis) and I was stopping this little 5wt without enough wrist rotation on the final power snap. Sure what I was doing put a tight point on the line but it didn't give the loop enough to turn over at the far end of a shooting cast.
Joan spotted this right away and offered some words of wisdom that had me floating above the platform instead of standing on it with the sweetness of the casts that I felt flowing from my properly rotated wrist, especially combined with the extended stroke length and late rotation I had been working on lately.
When someone of this degree of skill takes even 30 seconds with a student of the cast like me, it's truly a gift.
