The style of cast and line was designed to deliver large flys and get down fast...simple as that. Seems to me that everyone is trying to over analize the poop out of this subject.
Ya, I clarified that in the other thread on Speyclave. Still, a vertical presentation is very useful in pocket water. Over-analyzing doesn't hurt sometimes as a little nugget came out of the other thread that hadn't been mentioned here before, to the best of my knowledge. If you don't ask, you don't learn, and if you don't think, you won't ask.
