Juro --- your discription is breathtaking and it was like that. those days we discribed this as bucktaling [ this was my hardware side] The coho are in distress to-day but are making a comeback in our southern waters.
The fisherey that has exploded especially on the fly is for Pink and Chum [Dog] which by the way is agreat fish for smoking.
In the Vancouver area we have some fishing for coho in the salt but they are hatcherey fish. In the northern sections the salmon population has not suffered to the extent of our southern runs but we do have a moratorium on the comercial salmon catch. They will return.
