need excuse to build another fly rod...

thanks for all the feedback. We are in the middle of a harsh BC interior winter, just the excuse I needed to build another fly rod, string it up, and go casting on some snow (neighbours just don't understand). This leads to my second question, what would be the perfect companion tarpon rod for that reel? I will be building the rod, and I am looking to put together something in 3 or 4 piece that will be a suitable all-around tarpon-tamer... I am aware that the requirements for a tarpon rod probably vary in relation to whereabouts you fish, but I am looking to hear the input from some experienced tarpon rodders on what I should look for. 9'? 8.5'? 11,12,13 weight? If this has been discussed somewhere else, please don't hesitate to direct me there either. Anyway, I am headed down to Belize again this spring, and I will not travel there again without a heavier companion to my 8-weight. Thanks again folks.
