RE:braided mono loops

Maybe I am thinking of the wrong stuff but isn't the squidding version braided from much finer threads, kind of like the core of fly line itself?

If it is, then two things pop to mind:

(a) For line segment joining loops (verses leader butt loops) I would think that you might be taking a chance with the wonderful ability of braided nylon to loosen it's loops even after a brawl with a rock or a dock piling.

(b) For leader butt loops, I would think it would be fine as long as it lets you do the inchwork thang as far as you need to.

I have two large spools (20#, 30#) of Cortland braided if you need some just let me know.
