If you have a tip flex or faster rod a you should be able to lay out a sweet roll cast of 25' or more. another nice thing about a roll cast is if you are in tighter/smaller water you can load a faster rod more easily and snap out nice short casts with them. I find it a good way to manage heavier weighted/beadhead flies.
