Gaspé Fishing

Morning Gentlemen,
Here is the present situation on some of the Gaspé rivers:

St-Jean: Salmon were seen and released in the Upper Sectors
and for Sector 1 ( they will start holding soon). This is
normal for the St-Jean.

Dartmouth: Jere, we can easily see 30+ salmon in Sector 2.
Last evening 2 fish released. Sector 2 has at least
three good holding pools...

York: The York has been producing fish everyday. We see fresh
fish coming in everyday. They are mainly holding in Sectors
4-5-6-7. Yesrterday, one of our clients hooked three and
landed 2 in Sector 6. One ther missed a big fish on a dry fly.

Cascapedia: We have landed a few fish( we have the lower end), in the Upper sectors fishing is slow.

Bonaventure; Only a few fish seen in the river.

Grande River: not many fish have arrived.

Greg and Topher are at Tim Horton's early every morning and on the rivers until dark! They are very secretive. but then mostly all anglers are.... I should see them this evening.

All in all, the season is starting very slowly....
the rivers are dropping fast, for early June. It is definitely not as good as last year. Thus, salmon that enter fly up river!!
What we need is rain!! We are dry fly fishing in early June and/ or catching fish with # 8 flies. Haven't seen this in a while.

The fish released or seen are all between 15 and 30+lbs. I am certain there are more to come... high tides coming soon, this usually produces a run of fresh fish.

Keep'em in the water!!
