Renzetti Tube Fly Vise

I'm upgrading to an HMH tube fly vise, so selling off my near new Renzetti. Paid $87 (tax included) for it (still has the $79.99 price tag on it) and also bought a smaller mandrel for it ($17 with...

Actually, they are pretty close to correct about the boards. I am a groundlevel member on most of the NW fishing boards. If you check my profiles, you'll see me as one of the first 200 members on...

LOL

Mannnnnnnnnn, why did you post that link. LOL.

You know, I used to browse that board. I'm far from political, I actually hate it completely. I'm a fisherman foremost, and where my expertise...

Yup

That river has been downsliding for years now. It was my homeriver, and where I caught my first steelhead. Hell, and MANY others. I admit, I bonked quite a few wild steelhead. But back then,...

Depends

mostly on the water conditions for me. I actually don't worry much about water temps when using tips/floater. My main concern is water depth vs clarity. I mostly use a tip most of the fall/winter....

I like it

I always liked the sound of a screaming reel. I was given a very used and beat up Hardy when I was younger (well, it was a Hardy made Scientific Angler 7). Plus, always used the old USA made...

Agree

I rarely use a sinktip after Feb/april. Usually I'm running a floating line up until October. There are some deep pools I'll drag them out for (when fishing summerruns). But I do agree sometimes...

Sheesh Brian, not the Hoh

What are you trying to do, give me a heart attack??? :D I've been fishing that river before I was fishing steelhead. My Dad has me fishing that river for cutthroat back in the very early 70's. I...

I'd also recommend

the dynaking junior trekker as well. I just ordered one for a customer and they loved it. Pretty nice actually. It's the smallest of the Barracuda line. But is extremely functional. I actually...

It's funny

How things have changed. I happen to have a fly catalog from a UK store (don't have it handy, so not sure on which shop). It dates back to the war. I'd say WWII, but from the looks of the pictures...

Perfect

Actually, the stuff I have looks like the gudebrod stuff. But it is actually just as Ronn and flytyer described. It actually easily unspins unless you keep it in the slot on the spool. It's just...

Question Gold Rope

Ok, I'm doing a fly swap. It's all pre 1965 NW based steelhead flies. I found an old fly pattern book that was published well before that. It has a fly from 1923 that calls for gold rope for the...
