On rivers with a 5 wt. you can cast smaller hair bugs if your a good caster with a tight loop and some power on...

I just tied up some "bent back" Pike/Muskie flies...

I just tied up some "bent back" Pike/Muskie flies yesterday. On a 2/0 saltwater hook when I dunk tested them, the hook road up like it should with no weight added.
I did mine flash tail style...

I noticed that the tiemco 8089 sz 2 hook gap is the same size as a 2/0 hook, but it is not heavy wire. Do you feel that it is heavy enough wire for Pike ? I have some but, have not tried them on...
