Smile Rattle rouser

I copyed a fly from a friends box.....finally found it on the internet in a couple places....some call it rattle rouser, rattlefish....and rattle clouser.....anyone know the history of this fly?

fish was 35 1/4 inches long.....weighed 16lb 6 oz.....caught in lewis...

at Lewis Smith lake (fresh water) In Alabama... they are stockers .... I think the lake record is 47lb...jhightower

Flier....I use a 7 1/2 foot leader... if I have to go deeper than that I use a sink tip that can be connected to my floating line by loop to loop....It makes a little tougher to cast but it will get...

Looks like one of those would be a good hook up....I haven't caught a carp on the fly yet....I have seen them tailing in the river I fish most....what type of flys work for carp?
