Guess it's just a personal preference, but I've cast both and the Xi2 is my choice without a doubt. You should cast them for yourself before spending that kind of money, if you plan to buy one.

I agree with steelboneguy, flats boots, pliers, good hat. A cut or blister on your foot will ruin the trip. Pliers have lots of uses, and the hot Caribbean sun will make you sick without protection...
