Meiser 11'7" 5/6/7

That rod would be ideal for your application. You can single hand it, as well as, use two hands. Dry line with a SAS #8, or a Delta Spey 6/7. It also works very well with a Skagit style line for...

Once again

putting a bandaide over a festering wound and doing nothing about the real cause. There are good reasons why the sockeye are essentially extinct in the Clearwater and this technique does nothing to...

It is worse than asleep

They are pandering to commercial interests and ignoring the benefits of a great resource and the $ that it brings in. Very similar to the Thompson. Dog and catfood from steelhead!!!

Besides

it is unconsciable to use a method that kills everything on a system with wild endangered stocks. How many sockeye make it to Redfish Lake or are the extinct? Every one of those returning wild fish...

Gee

Do you suppose taking another 1300 + wild fish is going to make a difference in the sport fishing or the survival of wild fish?

I guess I now get to think about whether I will buy another...

in front of the wing also makes the small head easy to produce. It does change the look a little.

Eric

There is another study on the Hood River cited on Spey pages that is not quite as grim. Also, I understand that there are some rivers in the Great Lakes that now have runs of "wild" fish. I believe...

Where are Steelhead Headed?

There is a great chapter by Peter Soverel in Dec Hogan's latest book that talks about where steelhead are going if we do not change current practice. Here are some quotes:

I should make clear...

Poly Leaders

are lighter, and usually shorter, versions of a standard tip. So, in my view, they are a sub class of tips. They have mono core, but so does T14 and some standard fly lines.

As to the 5 wt., how big are the fish? You want to be able to land them...

Has anyone landed a 20# steelhead on their first cast, even including gear? Given the number of casts per steelhead, that would be better than winning the lottery.:hihi:
