As I recall there were no catch monitors assigned...

As I recall there were no catch monitors assigned for that fishery. Other than anecdotal evidence, there would be no data on by catch. One would have to put alot of faith in the catch models.

Every year for the last 8 years I make the same resolution. To catch and release wild (rivers without a hatchery) winter Steelhead.

Not as easy as some might think.

Didn't mean to boast but yes it was a great time :) As far as distance goes I am casting an 11' 6" loop blue and heads approx 100 feet altough I am sure a shorter cast would do fine.

Run ins like these are a very common occurrance in these parts. Perhaps the sealion and seal populations are getting a little out of balance?
