Hackel quill ones. In fact I have A.K. Best's book called A.K.'s Fly Box but I was disapointed with the explaination of prepareing the quills. Thanks for the reply!

mabey i'm not doing a roll cast. I just swing over my head from 10:00 to 2:00. I can't cast farther than about 40 ft.

Question knots in the leader and tippet

I am a beginer and have a St. Croix 9 ft 5wt and I always get little knots in my line doing a roll cast (or at least I think that's what it's called), is this normal. :confused:

Question Which one(s)?

I fish the Samish river WA somtimes with a spin setup and want to fly fish it instead. Which flys do you guys think I should use? :)

Question still water drys

I fish a lot on a small very weedy lake in north west washington and of course wooly buggers work great but I was wondering what kind of dry flys would work. :)
