Having never fished Exuma I can't help you with that. But having done many DIY trips to Andros, Long Island and Acklins I can tell you that I never encountered any hostility on any of them.

The booties are OK if you're on sandy flats but if you're in an area with a lot of marl ypu'll wish you had the sneaker types. Personally after many trips I've chosen the sneakers.
