I have a invite to come out to Montauk in either late October or early November. Is the fly fishing still going for Stripers at that time or are the fish moving by then?

Fish have been late on the Erie and Ontario tribs as well. Even this week the water was still very cold.
At this rate we might be catching some Steel well into May.

I have learned more about the history of fly fishing the last few days than I have the 5 years I have ben using a fly rod.
Very interesting to learn the history behind the game.

I don't even own a spinning rod or bait casting rig. Only fishing I do is with a Fly Rod. Last time I will use live bait. I like the hunt and the chase.
Only kept the 22 pound one. All the rest...

Anybody chase them with the fly? Have been invited down to Virginia to fish the Roanoke River in the fall. From what I hear it's pretty good.

I can't remember if I posted these or not. My first Stripers on the fly. Caught these mid-June on the bay. Used my new 10 weight, caught them both on a red and white clauser.
