Peddocks and Lovell's Islands

Peddocks for the fishing and Lovell's for the view (fishing isnt bad). North end of Peddocks is great, aka Hull Gut. Fast moving tides and plenty of open area.

Check the Boston Harbor island site...

I'll be out on South Cape/Waquoit and Cotuit this weekend (Including Monday) praying for Bonito. Actually I'll be praying for anything, my tally so far this season is 2 snappers I caught with my...

Another idea would be to get the 24, 36, or 48 hour permit for OSV at the PI refuge. From there you can launch at PI's southern end and not have to time it. You need to wait until the plovers are...

That's the one and it is productive in the early morning. There are some serious dropoffs out there. That whole area is a flurry of activity when the light is low. The only problem is getting out...

Juro - Just off of Crane's there's a sandbar that you can pull your boat onto for a good hour or two. We used to use it about 2 years ago, don;'t know if it's still there though.

RE:Striper Haven

What about PI beachfront? During the day? Don't discount the beachfront this time of year at PI in the surf with all the dropoffs and bowls. There are some big blues up there that will be...

Rod Warranties - Old and New

I broke my rod this past weekend otherwise I would have joined everyone at the clave. All I had as a backup was a five weight and it was hardly a match for schoolies never mind FA's.

Anyway I...

RE:4 keeper in 2 hours and no one around

I agree w/Terry. Juro puts a great deal of time and effort into this thing. He answers posts personally whenever he can and doesn't ask for much back. I only post when I think I can add something...

RE:Where are all the Posts?

No, I've just never heard of anyone targeting them. They are definitely a good fight and change of pace. I run into them occasionally on flats on the south side.
Good Luck

RE:Where are all the Posts?

I'll be on the jetty unless it's crowded then I'll be in the inflatable kayak. You aren't talking about sharks around wacky are you? I know there are brown sharks and dogfish but I don't think...

RE:Where are all the Posts?

Nick - Don't worry, you're not alone. However I do plan on being up at 4am tomorrow to hit Waquoit from the Kayak, maybe even tonight.

RE:Nantucket September

Nick - Nantucket in September is probably the best time to fish. Great point is outstanding but don't forget about Brant Point (I think?) Lighthouse right near downtown. Great Point is a tough...

RE:EPOXY OR SOFTEX

I use epoxy whenever I can. Unfortunately I have to do it in assembly line fashion since mixing up a batch is a project in and of itself. Tomd's suggestions on using it are great. I use an old...

RE:Sunglass Testimonials?

EMS polarized glasses <$30. Expensive glasses are nice but what a waste. I've lost too many pairs to count and the pairs that don't get lost either end up in the water or the dog scratches them in...

RE:Inflatable Kayaks

I've got the Stearns Inflatable One Man kayak and it's the best option for fly fishing. The exterior shell is extremely tough as is the inflatable shell. I use it on the Cape, North Shore, Maine,...

Cotuit/South Cape 7/14-7/18

Fished Cotuit Friday night from 10 to 12. Winds were horrible but I managed about 10 or 12 stripers from 22" to near 30". Small blues were in the mix. Saturday morning was blown out but fish were...

Cape Bonito

Any reports about Bonito hitting on the South Side? I'll be trying from the Kayak this weekend around Cotuit/Poppy/Waqouit and will post a report or two, I'm sure all I'll run into will be bass and...

RE:Bar Harbor Stripers?

Thanks Juro - I'll call Eldridge's. There are only a handful of bait shops in the area up there and fishing isn't their main inventory.

I actually did catch mack's on my five weight and they're...

Bar Harbor Stripers?

RE:Clear Intermediates?

I've used the Airflo 7000ts HiSens Int Clear for a while now and it's the best line I've used so far. No need for stretch and casts great. Some people talk about it getting sticky but I haven't had...

RE:Striper Lines - which and why?

The general impression I get from the following Companies/Lines is:

Cortland Lazer: Holds up well under a great deal of use even with stretching. You can find it at good prices. Casts: very...

RE:Need field tester for Airflo Coldwater Intermediate Line

I'd be willing to give it a try. I'm heading to Maine on July 3 for a week for some serious Striper fishing around Bar Harbor and it'd be an ideal setting for the kind of test you're looking for. ...

RE:Cracking head section on Cortland QD 325 line?

Juro - I've got a plain old 444 sinking line from Cortland and no cracking yet. 3 years old. A cheaper line but no problems. All SA lines I buy crack, which is why I went to an AirFlo Intermediate...

RE:Any Suggestions?

I'm from Newburyport and whenever I tire of Joppa I go to the southern tip of PI where there's plenty of room.

The Salisbury Jetty is also, IMO, more productive than any spot around. About 3/4...
