U-40 rod bond's (IMHO) the best epoxy to bond reel seats to blanks. Use a scotchbrite pad to scuff the area up under the cork/seat.

St. Croix makes some nice blanks. Around $40 for a Premier, $60 for an Avid, and $100ish for an Elite.

If cost is an issue, get a Mudhole...

Here is VA we have a few guys who've gotten the ODC1220, replaced the tubes w/ Aire, and slide the frame up higher on the tubes than the manual recommends for balance and use as a one-man pontoon.
