Hey Flydoc ;when I first started throwing the rio outbound 14 wt.on the 11x11, I thought the line was perfect for this rod,over time I've come to the conclusion this line overloads the rod too much...

flyfishing the canal

Jim are you flyfishing the canal with a single hander or spey rod?I 've been using the spey rod this year and doing quite well:hihi: Not having to worry about backcasts makes it more enjoyable.

Forgot to mention these are also the fold back type,great for using a conventional reel.They have round velcro tabs for holding the fingers folded back.

Had fish on sandy neck for most of the day Monday,schoolies up to several low 30" er's,lots of 23"- 26"on the fly rod.Later in the morning as the tide flooded larger fish started to show on the bars...

rio outbound 13 and 14 wts.

Rio has stopped production of their 13 and 14 wt lines geared toward the 11/12 wt CND Atlantis(original name) and other simular weight overhead rods.Apparently there was not enough demand for them...
