I think that the ASF was trying to keep fishermen on the river. Poaching tends to be a lot lower when there are people fishing. Sometimes no fishing translates to no fish.

Well since there are no salmon in the Saint John any more, that means nothing. High water on the Miramichi means business as usual. Looking forward to what kind of season we are going to have.
