I will meister.... and , in case anyone was wondering it was not my devious way scrounging flies out of boarmountain... that never entered my mind:cool: ... anyway..please sign up ..let me see how many sign up and maybe we can extend it beyond the end of February since we will be starting this at mid January. Lets stay flexible... my next post will be a first report after sign ups..thanks

Are you limiting this to long hackle flatwings? If so, I haven't got the skills or materials to join this one :( . Then again, maybe I can pick up a few pointers and hackles at the Marlboro show.

Fly Swap-Special- Flat Wings

I'm in on this one as well.

In honor of my New Jersey location, I was thinking of a Tony Soprano flatwing...in shades of black and blue.

Best regards,

-Doc

Q -

I would suggest sitting in on Todd Murphy's flatwing session at the show, you should come out of that with all the skills you need :)

John -

Great idea!

BTW - can you move this discussion to the striper board?

boarmountain 01-14-2003 11:16 AM

I'm in, thinking of one of favorites, a Bonderew Bucktail.

Tod D 01-14-2003 04:51 PM

For a chance for one of boarmountain's flies, count me in.

boarmountain 01-14-2003 04:52 PM

Brian,
The swap is for a 3 feather flatwing. The bondorew bucktail is a single feather fly.

brianf27 01-14-2003 06:59 PM

No, Three feathers. White under yellow under blue hackles.

rel1 01-14-2003 07:10 PM

Mike- I will have to agree with brianf27 that the Bonderow bucktail is tied with 3 feathers in the tail, but according to the recipe in his book the yellow and blue feathers are replaced with bucktail. This just shows the degree of diversity in tying any pattern; even Ken Abrames lists using synthetic hair for a couple of his patterns listed in his first book. Ron
