Hollywood, Florida fishing?

Heading down to Hollywood for a conference, and I'd like to sneak in some fishing. No time for a full day trip, but can I wet a line?

The surf? The Waterway? Are the Everglades close enough for a few hours of poking around?

Thanks for any help!

Too bad you're restricted for time! You are a few hours from the Florida Keys and some great flats fishing. If it were me I'd change my flights and run south.

As far as the immediate area, I have only gone out in boats and this time of year there were mahimahi, huge cuda, bonito, and sailfish offshore and over the wrecks. Find a captn that gets a kick out of the flyrodder and you'll have a blast.

Others from the FLA area may respond, but thats all I got.

Try the Biscayne Bay Flyshop, 1-877-291-6746 or biscaynebayflyshop.com and like Juro said I would go to the Keys. If you have a car and a half day you could wade around Key Largo or Long Key for bonefish.

I'm sorry, I live on the West Coast, or I could help you more.

Thanks! What about SE Australia?

Thanks for the ideas.

I'd like to stay longer in Florida, but I'm joining my wife the following weekend for her conference in Melbourne, Australia so I'm saving my fishing pennies for that trip.

Any tips on Melbourne salt flyfishing also welcome!

:D

I know they have a lot of yellowtail and inshore tuna. Man, we need to get members sorted out by region so we can inquire correctly around here!

Tuna sounds cool. I'm a Washington State guy, but I sure love wetting a line when traveling, even for a little while.

It's almost like you're not really experiencing a place till you've fished it.

Are there geographic fishing discusion boards that can be linked?
