Trip with Todd Murphy July 14th

I booked a trip with Todd Murph for the 14th of July. Is there anyone interested in splitting it with me. It will be 210.00 for the full day.

jborkowski 06-14-2001 01:50 PM

I'm in!!!!!

jborkowski 06-14-2001 01:51 PM

$210/each or split?

juro 06-14-2001 02:04 PM

Wow! That was quick.

Hey do me a favor, ask Todd if he would like me to pole for you guys ^_^

Bill Stanton will tell you - his "no" will be faster than Jeff's "I'm in!" <VBG>

I'd wish you a great time but I already know you will.

If Juro poles for you, be prepared to feel like you're circling the drawn in a large sink. Todd makes it look effortless. Juro makes it look like the boat has a serious design flaw.

Dick Ivers and I took a trip of a lifetime on June 11th with Capt Murphy. I am still in a state of shock as to what we experienced. Great guide ,we had a blast. Juro thanks again for having Todd at the Casting Clave , where we got to know him and book the trip. My advise is to save your money and book with Capt. Murphy.

Hey! WHeres' the smilie? ;-) <VBG>

I will have you know that I held the boat steady for a whole 45 seconds in a gale wind, raging tide current et al. Within that 45 seconds Todd caught a great keeper fish sight casting to a rushing pod. It was my 45 seconds of glory on a poling platform.

Seriously, I am looking forward to doing a lot of it and getting half decent someday. I think I will go mount a stand on my canoe for practice ;-)

Didn't use a smiley because I didn't know how. Do now }>.

All kidding aside, Juro was pretty impressive on the platform. He got the hang of it and was proficient in no time. I didn't even attempt it. There was current, wind, not to mention the pressure of poling for Todd. Competency was clearly demonstrated when Juro spotted distant fish and maneuvered the boat up current right where it had to go. Todd was able to relax and have fun fishing while someone else poled - probably something he doesn't get to do often

On another note, fished outside Nauset very early this am. One keeper.

Bill - I only qualified for your mercy for the 45 seconds. The rest of the time I was a shoe-in for the tidy bowl man! ;-)

Nice to hear about the Nauset fish, Harry Koons of Nauset Angler says "cigar sized sand eels have moved onto the beach and big fish have too." Check his site often, he updates it all the time.

Bill - did it take a sand eel?

Bill 06-15-2001 11:28 AM

Yup. Sand Eel. I dropped in to see Harry. Picked up a couple of things I needed including . . . a couple of plugs. They're for my kids and guests . . honest.

Should've gone with the sluggo! The best deep eel imitation I've seen }>
