Here is a close up of the head..I don't think the photo does justice to the colors..but note the colors of the individual stands of bucktail.

Nice fly: Is that peacock herl on top of the fly? second question, do you use a scanner? and how long are your flat wing flies from the hook eye to the end of the hackel?

Joe, those are peacock herl,, the fly is about 5 or 6 inches. I do not use my scanner.. I have a Sony D-5 Digital camera and just plug the camera into my lap top ,,, open the camera file, transfer it to "my Documents" then open that into Adobe photoshop and reduce it, sharpen, adjust the contrast and brightness (If I have to)...It automatically adjusts the photo in my Documents... then just use the Thread directions.
