Where does everyone live?

I live in St. Petersburg, Fl and fish Tampa Bay Flats for Trout, Snook, and Redfish. Good fishing year round and rarely have to wear waders. I use a 6 weight and a 9 weight.

The forum members are from all over the country and overseas...

"Stru=blu" doesn't even begin to cover it ...

This board is truly 'world-wide,' and wonderful. Have met-correspond regularly with folks in several of the US States, Scotland, Russia, and a big ETC. Welcome to the World!
:D

Forgot to answer your question: Medford in Southern Oregon. 20 minutes max. to the Spey Rod working from the office parking lot. Hay! I guys gotta do his lunch break (assuming I get one) somewhere; read that a 'mental health' break.

I live

in a small town in Penna. (the home of the American pretzel). My passion is steelhead so I've got to travel to the Great Lakes to find the closest fish, but I've fished AK, BC, and am headed to OR. for the Clave. This two handed stuff opens new doors, and drives me nuts.

Jere...Bachman?! Pretzles are one of the major food groups...and you come from "ground zero" pretzleville?!
And DL...if you ever get tired of warm water, visit the chilly NorthEast and we'll introduce you to hypothermia and Mass drivers.

I'm from South Hadley in central MASS...but soon to relocate on the "other side" of the Cape canal...If you get the chance you can trade a steelhead and those pesky tarpon for something with horrizontal stripes...
Visit seasonal areasixtyone and stretch a line...

Jere,

Grew uo in Northern New Jersey (Teaneck) learned to fly fish on NJ and NYS Catskill rivers. Corporate transfer to South Bend, indiana and marrying a Chicago girl brought me to great lakes salmon, steelhead, and trout country in 1979.

Moved to Oak Lawn, Illinois in 1986 which is surburb of Chicago about 30 minutes south west from down town. The irish catholic area of Chicago.

42nd year of fly fishing

Need hints on Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin steelhead fishing shoot me an e-mail.

Steelhead are my passion.

Welcome

Hal

A timely topic indeed!

Dont forget you can "Forum Jump" to Members Profiles where folks can post stuff about where they live, fish, come from, etc.

"Forum Jump" - hmmm - sounds a bit 'Babylon 5' to me ........

Welcome, and I have to say that I'm envious of anyone who can fish the Florida salt year round. Although without these New England winters I'd probably not appreciate the warmth as much. I reside in Portland, CT which is almost the geographic center of the state. There's a lot to fish for around here, including trout and broodstock salmon, warmwater bass and pike, and the coast where the stripers, blues, shad, and weakfish come through.

And when I fish these waters, the fish are scared. Not because of my ability, but because of my long shadow that's cast across the water. :p

FishingDL

We're almost neighbors. I'm about 120 miles south of you in the Ft Myers area.
Fish for redfish, snook, seatrout and tarpon. Should be a good weekend coming up. Weather and tides look great for here.

...Did someone say Florida Clave?!...

Angie...I used to fly Navy cargo from MacDill AFB and NAS Jax to Boca Chica near Key West and I got a bid's eye view of some great looking water on the Gulf coast...turned out to be Captiva and Sanibel...
Are you blessed with fishie water or what!!!

fisheze 03-29-2002 08:12 PM

Hi Penguin

Yes...I'm am truely a lucky guppy to be in these waters! This whole area is great. From Ft Myers to the Everglades to the Keys. Who could ask for more?

I've lived here for about 8 years and I truely love it. I'm out on the waters almost every weekend.

I plan to fish around the flats of Sanibel tomorrow. We've had some great weather lately and I'm hoping that the snook bite will be on!

Angie
