Chesapeake Light Craft (www.clcboats.com) carries wooden kayaks (and other small boats), kits, and plans. Of special intrest could be their sail rig that hooks onto kayaks and not only provides a sail but also two pontoons that should make a kayak extremely stable.
I built their North Bay XL over last summer and have been delighted with it.:)
My dream boat is a CLC, I just don't have the time to assemble one.
How does yours handle beaching, draggin over rocky sand, etc...?
Why did you choose the North Bay XL?
I have some pictures of my boat at Webshots.
School starts again tomorrow (and midterms are coming up), so I will be busy and may not be able to respond quickly to you. :(
