Results are in - Last Year's Gaspé salmon returns were great!
The Province of Québec has released their report of returns to the great Gaspé rivers, and it was a very good year indeed. We have translated their overview of the season, with some very positive statistics. The full report, with its tables of returns for each river, can be downloaded as well (French only).
Posting Maine Poached Salmon on Facebook?
In Maine, there is a story of an unidentified winter angler catching and keeping a "large" salmon. He even posted details on Facebook. Authorities are investigating. Read more.
Salmon Disease Suspected Outbreak Raises Concerns
A suspected outbreak of ISA at a fish farm site in Nova Scotia waters* has resulted in the destruction of all the salmon in two cages owned by Cooke Aquaculture. The story has been reported from coast to coast, with comments from ASF's Todd Dupuis. Read more.

Nova Scotia Eastern Shore group offers online petition
A proposed expansion of aquaculture into the Eastern Shore area of Nova Scotia, has many residents and members of the salmon world upset. Several major costly restoration projects are underway, and there is fear that success is jeopardized, and an online petition has been created on the matter.
