Acklins Island--March 1-8
Finally getting around to putting some pics up. We had a great trip. Bones, barracuda, jacks, snappers, and some great shots at permit, though none landed :frown:
We stayed up in the north part of Acklins, in Chester's. We had tailers out front most evenings and mornings. Wonderful to be back on Acklins enjoying those death marches!
Great pictures! That is a nice snapper. Looking at these pics and then looking out my window at the snow flying is not helping my mood right now......
Very nice pictures. Looks like you had a blast and picked up a lot of fish!
Good speaking with you guys at the airport Vince. Looks like another great trip for you and the permit are still being permit!
The muttons are showing up on the flats in good numbers...Neena and I got three yesterday afternoon. Somehow they never seem to get released!
The muttons are great to eat--we actually released this fish as it was caught early in the day and we didn't feel like dragging it around with us all day. We'll get him next time.
We caught decent #'s of bones, and as usual some days were better than others. Had great weather most of the trip too.
f...ing permit--are they never easy?:(
Don't you just love azure blue skies over clear, white, sandy flats? Heaven on Earth...
I swear, flyfishing can take you to some of the most beautiful places on earth unreachable by other venues.
Great report. Nice mutton!
