Restoring Atlantic Salmon video

Here's a link to a video presentation by Steve Gephard, who is a biologist with the Connecticut DEP. I didn't time it, but it's probably 45 minutes or so.

He's addressing the restoration of Atlantic Salmon in New England with primary focus on the Connecticut River, but there's some interesting information regarding the native fish to New England, plus some comments of global interest as well.

This should be required viewing for anyone who calls himself a fisherman, sportsman or outdoor enthusiast, in my opinion.

thanks Bill

After viewing the whole thing I don't agree with all of the genetic science as compared to the river's own imprinting and diversity mechanisms (but what do I know) and the robotic means of fry marking etc seem extreme BUT... given the state of affairs I am glad we have programs like this and it seems possible if not even hopeful that we may see the return of the American Atlantic Salmon.
