Galvan Standard v. OB Reel

I just bought a Loomis GLX 6wt, and am trying to decide on a reel for freshwater trout. I have a Galvan OB for my 4wt, and love it. In doing some looking, I noticed that Galvan makes a "Standard," which is not a large arbor. Does anyone have any experience with this reel? Is this enough reel if I ever try to take this 6wt for light saltwater?

I don't have the reels you mentioned, but I have the Galvan Rush for my 7 wt. Even though this is their bargain reel, I find the drag more than adequate (stripers up to 30in., sm bass, pike, salmon). Overall, it has bomber, no-nonsense construction. I would recommend their products generally, although I haven't used the standard.

it appears the standard's only 'features' is that it's small arbor and in the mid-range for price. Is that Small Arbor what you are seeking, and why? The Rush is equivalent in price - could be a good bet.

RE: Rush

I had not looked at the Rush, although I have no doubt that it is a good product. The reason for my post is that I had an old cheapo Cabelas small arbor I fished with for a few years, and while recently pricing an Abel, I started trying to remember a lost fish that I could attribute to a reel shortcoming as opposed to something else like a poor hookset or a mistake when playing the fish. This made me wonder why I am considering spending yet another few hundred dollars on a reel rather than spending $40 on a basic reel and focusing on fishing better. The Standard just seemed a nice classic reel.
