The season is officially underway!
Thanks to all who helped make 2007 yet another phenomenal spring kick-off clave.
I saw a lot of guys shaking hands with freinds old and new and that's really what the Forum is all about.
Although I tend to get going with preparations and such that I can't sit and visit with everyone individually as I would like to, but I have thought through in my mind all of the conversations and look forward to catching up with everyone further as the season unravels and long summer days descend on the scene.
Special thanks to all who are so generous with their appetizers and desserts! I hope you'll all agree that the main meal is still a great deal at $10.
The fishing was NUTS. The scenery of the wild seashore and refuge never lets one down and the new surprises that mother nature has brought over the winter are truly gifts. Like I said everybody bring a shovel ;)
Special thanks to Matt and the Stone Horse staff for being so accommodating toward us in their main function area, kitchen and the way they go overboard to make things work out - extra grills, tables, Joan even knocked off the dishes for us this time!!
Juro- hope you're feeling a bit better than when I ran into you yesterday at the refuge- probably a good thing that I didn't follow you guys over to the Squire, given the condition I was already in by that point Saturday night. That single malt packs a bit of a kick:Eyecrazy:
Not to question your medical authority but I dont think it was the single malt in my case. It was probably the tequila, bourbon, beer and wine. :lildevl:
For the record I was the only one of the Squire patrol who made the Rip Ryder on two hours of sleep. I won't be back for a couple of weeks but I think the next two are going to be insane - I envy all who have ready access to what is about to unfold there.
Great Clave Juro,
Thanks so much for all you do.
Sunday morning found a few of us "a little wooly".
We got into some larger fish on Sunday, just before I needed to get off Cape.
See you guys next week.
Hey I made the Rip Ryder but.....my wife called and I had to go home as she was ill.
Hey I probably would have puked overboard on the ride over but I fully intended to be out there:)
Thanks again Juro for putting this on,
Dennis- I'm a go for this upcoming Saturday-working on a bendback herring pattern on the vise as I type up this post;)
Maybe some of the other clavers will show...I think Jim Simms is still floating around (not literally I hope).
P.S.- Juro- I did a little of the mixing it up as well- the combo of the Harpoons, Craig's wine, and the two fingers of Glenlivet is what put me out in the chair in the lobby....appreciate that you guys didn't take advantage of me in my vulnerable condition:o See you at BB Day, as I'm on call first weekend of June, and up at my folks for Dad's Day weekend. Hopefully the twinks will have reached Joppa Flats by then (and maybe some of the big boys....).
