i have a vps light which is a 7'9"3 wt that i use for trout. i absolutely love this rod. the vps is made from the same blank i believe as the former rpl which is a very highly regarded rod. $120 is a good price i believe. what are you fishing for? it has been many years since i did a stint in the red stick. loved that place.

I am fishing for redfish (primarily, I'll also take speckled trout, flounder, drum, sheepshead and the oocasional Jack), making my first trip to the camp on Sep. 22 and hope to put it through its paces. I've heard nothing but good things about the RPL so I am excited about that. I am in my fifth year at LSU (getting my Masters) and I love it too. Geaux Tigers
