Healthy Low-Carb Snacking
 
Walgreens are everywhere, and they have a Mediteranean Nut Mix (1/2 pound packs $3.50) packed with almonds, pistachio, walnuts and hazelnuts.

No tutti frutti chunks, chocolate chips, peanuts or cashews, just four of the healthiest sources of potasium, protein, manganese, vitamin E, etc out there.

And with 5g Carbs - 3g fiber you are net 2g carb so it's not going to raise the insulin level in the blood which causes you to feel hungry and store fat.

Eat a nice healthy salad for lunch and have a handful of nuts mid-afternoon with some water to get you thru the day to a sensible dinner. Keeps the metabolism up to spread out your eating thru the day which helps you burn up the food you eat.

I am holding at 158 pounds down from 190 and still could trim up a bit around the middle but that will come from calorie control, which I have not been very tight about lately. Sitting at a computer all day doesn't help either.

I am hangin' in with healthy snacks and not the old vending machine cookies, chips and chocolates.
