Hardy Wye 11' double handed rod
Just looking for some advice regarding a Hardy Wye 11' double handed salmon rod, it's from 1956 and is in mint condition. It was left to me along with some reels. I was wondering if any of you have owned or do own one of these rods?
I have been tempted to part with it and get something a little more practicle. I have it paired with a Hardy St. John 3 7/8" reel from around the same period and a #7 line. I am not expecting big bucks but I would like to know what it's worth.
I would hold on to it... it's only going to get better with time. Practical rods are so inexpensive these days.
Here in the states people will buy a practical car and put a bumper sticker on it saying "my other car is a... <type>"
I wouldn't be in a rush to part with anything hardy that is classic.
Thanks for your views Juro, it's nice to hear what you would do. You are right about cheap practical rods, I may hang onto it.
