HELP...Wrong reel seat?
I got my IM7 kit from hook and hackle and started building it. I got the reel seat together and on the blank and the handle glued on. After that I thought I would try putting the reel I was going to use on it. The reel feet don't fit properly. It's an uplocking reel seat and the front/top hood seems like it's made for a reel with a wider thinner foot, the back/bottom one fits better but it still looks like it's made for a wider foot, I tried 3 different reels but all the same. Can anyone explain this to me, did I screw something up, or are there different types of reel feet out there?
This used to happen more frequently in the past but the manufactures are now building reel seat to a standard. I would contact H&H about this. You have two choices. Remove the handle or file the reel seats. FishHawk
