Housatonic...

Sounds like the Hous'y is in great shape. Can't wait to make a trip down. Here is a brief report forwarded to me by a friend down in CT:

"Went by the Housatonic. Water was coming down nicely and saw some great rises. Stopped above two car hole and quickly took one small brown. Waited until 7:45 for larger fish to rise. In my 50 years of fishing the river, I was never freightened. Some of the fish that rose 5 ft from me actually scared me. Huge fish feeding under the surface on caddis. Hooked one holdover with curved lower jaw about 15". Had to leave at 8:15 when things were really starting to heat up. Caddis on surface and rises like bombs everywhere. The river is full of huge fish. Some up to 26" caught before the rain."
