How is the season in Scotland?

Hello anglers from the other side of the Atlantic,

I would like to know how you qualify the beginning of the season in Scotland? What the salmon run looks like? Many fish? Many MSW? Many grilses? Good shape? Late or soon? It is usualy a good benchmark to know what to expect on the North American side of the Atlantic, so your feed back will be appreciated.

Thanks

Pierre

The salmon run in most rivers so far this season has been quite good, a little down in number from last season but that was the best season for many years. The run so far is still well above the ten year average. It is still a little early in the season for grilse, in most rivers they dont start running till late June, although I hear that they are beginning to pick up one or two on the Spey.
