Smallmouth Flies

What is your most effective small-mouth bass fly?
I caught most on the THUNDER CREEK & MICKEY FINN patterns.
I am planning a bronzeback expedition this fall to BRAVER CREEK state park (OHIO, USA)
I need a sure-fire ringer for smallies....
Thanks

For me, fishing smallmouth ponds, anything yellow.

In order of success:
1. #6 popper
2. #4 popper
3. #2 popper
4. caddis flies - big & bushy

Good luck - have fun!

I also like wolly buggers in claret, black, purple, etc; deerhair bugs (morning and evening); small clousers tied like smelt; bunny leeches in dark colors, matuka style streamers.

In spring they will hit anything that intrudes their space willingly. IN mid-summer my experiences were river mouths in lakes - excellent mid day, surface flies along the shoreline in evening were great in twilight.
