Yale Angler's Journal
I was given a copy of Volume 1 Number 1 of the Yale Angler's Journal by Andrew Liverman when we met. You may have seen the ad banner and clicked through to their website. Some have subscribed, and some were already signed up beforehand.

In any case, I leave the journal on my desk. When there is a slack moment, I open it up and take in a story, or sometimes just a paragraph. Maybe I only get a moment to ponder one of the classic angling prints included.

It's become a portal into a part of my angling psyche, sort of like this site but at a much different pace and in a different dimension. The stories speak to the very essence of fly angling, it's people, it's history. Right here on my desk.

It's miles apart from today's glossy commercial magazines, although every journal has it's place. Yale Angler's Journal certainly has it's place. I highly recommend it!

BTW - this is a totally unsolicited commentary encouraged by a reading break between meetings. I opened the journal randomly and read. The story was "No Man's Land", Gillespie.

RE:Yale Angler's Journal
Juro, At the Marlboro show I started a two year subscription to that publication and I also purchased all the back issues ( 6 in all) as well as the fist edition of the first issue which has gone though several editions so far.. I could not agree more with your assessment. It's a great journal and the Art and photo's submitted speak of a time long gone by. I recommend it highly and there are no ads. The stories are great and cover a wide spectrum. The Art submissions are really good. It's a little expensive and they publish twice a year but well worth it.
