Cape lodging

Hi Friends,

I'm kind of happy to say that I'll make it to the Cape this year in August, for the first time! I was wondering whether anybody could tell me this or the other address where I could find a clean room for two or three nights, and since I'm on a budget, it should be affordable, too. I guess in the $50 range or so (or less) a night would be OK. I thought of staying in Chatham or Dennis, but every other place nearby the good fishing holes would be fine as well!

I'm sure others have referrals but it's tough to find something in Chatham for that price. You can either go north a bit, or back toward the mainland to get into that range. Mid-cape, there are a lot of low-cost rooms along rte 28 in Yarmouth for example, just east of Hyannis. This location makes access to Bass River, the south side beaches and bayside flats very easy, and the drive to almost any place on cape is within 1 hour.

Past the Orleans rotary, you'll find additional lodging under $100 heading north on rte 6... making outer beaches access a snap.

Any body have specifics? I'll grab a directory next weekend.

Check out:

http://www.usa-lodging.com/motels/massachusetts/

then click on towns like Orleans, Eastham & Wellfleet.

A LOW on-season rate is $60-80.

A few places I've stayed that are reasonable are:
Even Tide, Mainstay, & Atlantic Breeze (all in Wellfleet).
Not Fancy, but clean.
