Flyfishing in Japan

Juro,

To start with, please accept my apologies for not posting sooner here.

Nice site.

I am wondering if anyone here has flyfished in Japan? I was
in Hokkaido, and would love to share experiences with fellow anglers for whom Tokachi, Shiribetsu, and Itou mean something.

Cheers, Christian

Glad you made it!

I know the north island has a sixth species of salmon (over the traditional pacific 5) called the cherry salmon or sakura masu (?). Have you any familiarity with it?

Also, I was wondering if any of the Kamchatka steelhead fame wanders as far southwest as Hokkaido?

(I'll be leaving for the pacific northwest is just a few hours!)
