Politics and Forest fires...

The House by a large majority passed a bill that was supported by the Bush administration to allow extensive logging in some "off limits"areas to make wild fires less problematic.
Lets see if you cut down all the trees then there is nothing left to burn! What a great idea the applications for this are endless. I hope they don't take to close a look at healthcare with this vision!

Hard to argue with their logic. I anticipate a huge conservation initiative soon to expand drilling in the Artic Refuge as a way to keep carabou from getting stuck in those pesky tarpits. This new forward thinking could also save many Washington and Oregon mammals each year by deverting all water to California and thus reducing accidental animal drownings.

Remmeber, prevention is the best medicine.

even Christie Whitman, a political ladder climber if ever there was one, couldn't stomach it anymore. I wish Gale Norton would step down instead....
